Neighbors, Mountain View Community, Friends
We take pride in our South Valley!
We worked together to preserve 570 acres of land in our neighborhood that became the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge. It can now be enjoyed by our own community and shared with others.
Your ideas for the development of the Refuge and its programs are valuable. Please attend this community event and take the opportunity to share those ideas and celebrate together.
The Mountain View Community, host neighborhood to Valle de Oro NWR, is also host to Superfund sites and dirty industry adjacent to the elementary school, community center and homes. This community has constantly been on the defensive, working to keep more dirty industry from locating here. The establishment of the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is finally something positive the community can embrace!
It's time to plan and celebrate its potential for education, conservation and recreation opportunities for children and families in the community.
